Putin was shown a banner with a submarine instead of the fleet
This year, Russia celebrated Navy Day without the main symbol of the holiday – warships. Instead of the traditional parade in St. Petersburg, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin watched a large banner depicting a submarine, writes Glavkom.

The reasons for canceling the main naval parade were not officially explained. At the same time, Russian media link this to the threat of attacks by Ukrainian drones.
According to Express, the decision is related to security risks after Ukraine’s strikes on Kronstadt, the base of the Russian Baltic Fleet.
Just a few years ago, the Kremlin demonstrated its naval power with parades of dozens of warships. Now, the fleet had to be replaced with a printed image.
By the way, in July, Ukrainian defense forces hit port oil infrastructure near St. Petersburg, as well as a military facility in Kronstadt, where ships of the Russian Baltic Fleet are based.
