Rafal Leskiewicz, spokesperson for the Polish President Karol Nawrocki, has criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s initiative to create a Ukrainian National Pantheon, calling it “escalatory.” He stated this while commenting on the bill for the pantheon, according to the Polish president’s website, as reported by UNN.

According to Leskiewicz, Warsaw is concerned about the actions of the Ukrainian side in the sphere of historical memory. He also recalled Kyiv’s previous decisions regarding the commemoration of UPA units.
If it concerns the pantheon, 95% of the heroes will not raise any doubts. However, those who led the UPA, in our opinion, should not be included in this pantheon. We, as a state, will definitely react.
