French President Emmanuel Macron announced he spoke with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and offered Madrid assistance amidst the sudden migration crisis in Ceuta. He shared this on social network X, as reported by UNN.

Macron stated that during his conversation with Sanchez, he expressed solidarity and offered “all necessary assistance,” including through the EU agency Frontex.
I commend the ongoing cooperation with Morocco, thanks to which over 40,000 returns from Ceuta back to Morocco have been secured today. Our interior ministers will be in touch to closely monitor the situation.

Emmanuel Macron also emphasized that unimpeded entry into the Schengen Area from Ceuta is not possible, as controls are in place on the border with mainland Spain.
He also pointed out that France has already implemented additional measures to strengthen border control with Spain, supplementing those in effect in previous years.
Reminder
Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš called for Spain to be temporarily excluded from Schengen due to the migration crisis in Ceuta, where approximately 49,000 migrants entered uncontrollably from Morocco. Italy has already suspended the application of Schengen rules in relation to Spain.
