Although this year’s harvest in the Chernihiv region began later due to weather conditions, it had positive consequences for farmers. This was reported to Suspilne by the owner of the agricultural enterprise “Naporivske”, Hryhorii Tkachenko.
«For the grain group, especially for winter wheat, it was a rather pleasant year. And the precipitation fell purposefully, and there was no large gap between precipitation. Also, a favorable condition for growing winter wheat was that the spring was prolonged, it was not fast and was not characterized by high temperatures,» — boasted the farmer.
The harvest began last week. During this time, about 150 hectares of winter wheat were threshed from a total area of 300 hectares. Hryhorii Tkachenko says that combine operators manage to thresh 30-40 hectares per day, from which they collect an average of 150 tons of grain.

The situation with the sale of the harvest is not pleasing, says the farmer. Due to the closure of Black Sea ports, grain prices have decreased.

«Yesterday we sent a truck to “Stolychnyi Mlyn”. And they refused to take the wheat. We traveled to various business entities to sell it somewhere. And we managed to sell wheat for 5 thousand per ton. Last year, the price policy started at 9200–9300 hryvnias per ton. Today, it’s 5200. That’s how much prices have dropped. Such a price policy was only in 2022. The situation is very difficult now. And in connection with such actions: the blocking of sea ports, and the blocking of the Strait of Hormuz by Iran, yesterday we bought diesel fuel at a price of 92 hryvnias per liter,» — Hryhorii Tkachenko said.
Currently, wheat is being sold to Ukrainian bakery enterprises.
